Stud Labrador Retriever - Red Fox
Griffin

Meet Griffin, our renowned red fox Labrador! Currently an assistance dog in training and excelling at his working role. Griffin is a purebred Labrador Retriever with prestigious UK lines. His stunning red/dark golden coat, commonly referred to as "red fox," is just the beginning of what makes him special. Bred for high-drive, athletic work such as duck retrieving, Griffin boasts a lean, athletic build perfect for these tasks.
Griff has a sweet, sensitive nature combined with his drive, focus, and cuddly personality make him a standout. He's the perfect mix of attentiveness and affection. One of Griffin’s signature greetings is his adorable toothy smile and sheepish expression, a sight that never fails to warm our hearts. He’s also incredibly patient, often found snuggling with our puppies, showcasing his calm and nurturing temperament.
A toy-driven dog, Griffin loves nothing more than chasing and retrieving toys, and he thrives on long runs around the farm. His natural drive and passion give him a disciplined, almost militant energy, and we are eager to see how he continues to develop in training.
Griffin has passed all his health and temperament tests with flying colors, including enviable hip and elbow scores. Recently, we’ve mated him with Milly, and we’re eagerly anticipating the amazing puppies they will produce. We have high hopes for their future litters and can’t wait to see what they achieve!
Stud Golden Retriever
Bear

Bear is one of our most loved studs. He is a family favourite, from his handsome face to his gentle nature and goofball lovability, any pups sired by Bear will be just the same; the genes run strong from this boy. As a pup, he was playful with siblings and bigger dogs, but he was also calm and respectful of older dogs who were not so keen on the pup mayhem. From there, he has grown into a beautiful boy who is in tune with his surrounds and his owner.
His owner suffers chronic pain and episodes of depression/anxiety, and Bear will know when they need some support by way of the sweetest head push into them, his own version of a cuddle.
Bear is gentle around children, loves walks and pats, and you better believe you will get some attention when out with him; so prepare for lots of pats and chats when you have one of his pups.
Golden’s can be stubborn, and their ears sometimes decorative only, however Bear has been easy to train using treats, praise and repetition, as have the pups from his first litter. Whether you are after a pup to train as an assistance dog, or to become family member, we guarantee one of Bear’s pups will be the prefect companion.
Bear sired his first litter in 2024 creating some spectacular golden retrievers. He's pups are melting hearts across Australia. The puppies he has produced have shown incredible promise for assistance dog and therapy dog work. His pups are highly trainable with 1 pup finishing the early learning puppy program 2 months early! Now that's a quick learner.
Bear is also from our favourite breeder Linleighdore Retrievers

Josh

Details on Josh to come!
Josh is Macey's Dad and will be welcomed into our breeding program.
Josh has been chosen as he is a mirror image to our dear Max who passed away in 2025.
Josh has the same temperament and look, just slightly smaller than Max.
Stud Golden Retriever
Cruze

Cruze truly lives up to his name.
Life with Cruze feels like a little adventure, especially in the mornings when the car door opens and he knows exactly where he’s headed — the beach. It’s his favourite place in the world. There’s no rush to put a lead on him; he happily trots alongside, taking in every smell and sound before charging joyfully in and out of the sea. He roams, runs, explores… but always circles back, checking in with his person before heading off again.
Like the classic Golden Retriever he is, Cruze is full of love. He adores cuddles, pats, and will happily roll onto his back to demand a proper belly rub. There’s a softness to him that people instantly notice — everyone who meets Cruze seems to fall in love with him.
At two years old he still carries that golden enthusiasm for life. He gets excited meeting people and other dogs and sometimes forgets his size, especially when greeting friends or when he’s playing with his favourite mate, Ella.
The two of them love teasing each other and charging around together, though Cruze doesn’t always realise he’s the bigger dog in the game. With guidance and consistency he’s learning his manners beautifully, especially keeping those happy paws on the ground instead of jumping up for attention.
Cruze has a gentle heart. His flight over earlier in life left him a little wary of things that flap or objects held in someone’s hand. With patience and reassurance he has come a long way and now only occasionally needs a moment of comfort to feel safe again.
Like many intelligent dogs, Cruze has a streak of stubbornness — every now and then he’ll decide the car isn’t quite where he wants to be and will firmly plant himself in protest. But that independent spark is part of what makes him so endearing.
At his core, Cruze has a kind of magic about him — a warm, joyful presence that seems to radiate wherever he goes. He’s happy, affectionate, and deeply connected to the people and dogs around him. He gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, even the grumpy barkers. It takes a lot for Cruze to push back, and even when he does, it’s done with respect.
He’s simply a beautiful soul — loving, playful, occasionally cheeky, and always full of heart

Chloe
Suzie

Everyone meet our white lioness, Chloe.
Chloe is bred from our favourite breeder, @linleighdore linleighdore Retrievers. Chloe's mum is the beloved blossom and her father the unforgettable Winston. Chloe closely resembles her dad, in both appearance and temperament, who has recently retired. We are thrilled to continue his lines.
We have spent many, many days emerged in the linleighdore lines and can't rave enough about their dogs. Just ask anyone who has one or two or three of their puppies!!!
Chloe is a gentle girl who loves cuddling with her soft toys and will be sure to present you with one in return for cuddles. Chloe has spent time as a therapy dog in nursing homes, where she has the softest and sweetest approach to residents.
Chloe has great intuition when it comes to what people need. She will provide loving cuddles if you need or if you need space, and she will respect that. This kind of intuition can not be taught.
Chloe has an innate ability to detect when her owner stops breathing due to heart complications. It is a skill she has picked up naturally and her persistent nudging to wake up her owner when his heart stops has been verified by a cardiologist. An extremely important role that Chloe now plays for her family.
Chloe has passed all her health testing and will hopefully have her first litter in 2026.

Mini
Maple

Milly
Bear
Mini and Maple are siblings from the same litter. Their mother is Milly and their father is Bear. We kept both of these girls due to their matching temperaments to their parents. Mini is a mini version of her mother Milly and Maple is just like her Dad.
All our golden retrievers are related, from Linleighdore Retrievers, with the exception of Cruze who is not related to any of our girls. Cruze has been brought in so that we can continue our beautiful purebred golden retriever lines.

Hip and Elbow Dysplasia Health Testing for our Breeding Dogs
When it comes to selecting breeding dogs, one of the most important health considerations is hip and elbow dysplasia. These are hereditary joint conditions that can significantly affect a dog’s quality of life, causing pain, arthritis, and mobility issues. To help reduce the risk of passing on these conditions, we use two main types of testing for our breeding dogs. The current Dogs Australia standard is just to do the CHEDS scoring, but we choose to add in the luxation distraction scoring for a better overall view of our breeding dogs.
1. PennHIP (Hip Laxity Testing)
PennHIP is a diagnostic method that evaluates hip laxity, or how loosely the hip joint fits in its socket. It gives a Distraction Index (DI) – the lower the number, the tighter (and healthier) the hips.
The PennHIP manual recommends breeding only dogs with a DI lower than the breed median, as this helps steadily improve hip health in future generations.
-
The current breed median for Golden Retrievers is 0.52.
-
So, a DI under 0.52 is considered suitable for breeding.
Unlike other tests, PennHIP is less influenced by environmental factors such as diet, weight, or exercise, making it a strong indicator of a dog's genetic hip quality. However, it’s not completely immune to external influences.
2. CHEDS (Canine Hip and Elbow Dysplasia Scheme)
CHEDS is the standard Australian scheme that scores hips and elbows based on their structure and signs of inherited issues, such as arthritis, joint space, and bone changes.
-
The current 5-year breed average for Golden Retrievers is 10.92.
-
The median score is 8.0.
-
Lower scores are better, and dogs should ideally score under the median to be considered for breeding.
Elbow scores range from 0 to 3, with 0 being ideal. Even a score of 1 may be concerning in some breeding lines, depending on the rest of the dog’s genetic background.
CHEDS scores can be affected by environmental factors like:
-
High-impact play
-
Jumping from heights (like couches)
-
Overweight puppies
-
Poor nutrition
Because of this, it’s important that puppies are raised carefully in their early months.
Using Both Tests Together
PennHIP and CHEDS complement each other. PennHIP is best for detecting early joint laxity, while CHEDS gives a broader picture of joint development and signs of dysplasia. Together, they help breeders make more informed decisions.
While hip and elbow results are critical, they should not be the only factor in choosing breeding dogs. Temperament, structure, coat, genetics, and overall health are also essential.
However, dogs with scores outside the breed median or average are red flags and should not be bred. Being selective is key to maintaining and improving breed health.
Example Scores from Our Dogs
-
Floss * Retired due to her scores below *
-
CHEDS: 10
-
PennHIP: 0.45 – 0.5
-
-
Maple *retained to breed *
-
CHEDS: 8
-
PennHIP: 0.38 and 0.44
-
-
Mini *retained to breed *
-
CHEDS: 2
-
PennHIP: 0.32 and 0.44
-
These results are well within (or better than) the recommended ranges, indicating strong joint health and suitability for breeding.
You can see Floss was right on the border of what is acceptable. Floss was showing some signs of early discomfort so with the median scores she had, we decided to retire her from breeding. This is just one example of our high standards of breeding.
